Holy Spirit truth can change your life. When you allow Him control, He opens your mind and understanding to things you have never understood before.
Acts 2: 14-36 is Peter’s Sermon on the Mount. It was a mere 448 words (KJV) and would have taken only a few minutes to speak. But at his invitation at least three thousand people accepted Christ as Savior.
Their lives were radically changed. And they carried the message of the Gospel to those around them.
But what happened on that day had nothing to do with Peter’s talent or eloquence in speaking. He was merely a vessel that God could use to pour out His Power. And this enabled the people to understand His words and be changed.
Just like me, you probably must become miserable in your present situation before you will be open to radical change in your life. At least that’s been my experience.
The people in that day must have been exhausted with the rules and regulations that constantly weighed them down. And just about everything about their daily life was overbearing.
The Holy Spirit knew that the time was right. He opened their minds to hear the truth of what Peter was saying. They were able to spiritually hear and understand his words about this new way of life that Jesus had come to give them.
When Peter preached that great sermon in Acts, they listened to the Word and not the person preaching it. The Word itself drew people to listen and it totally changed their life.
John 6:63 It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life.
Quickeneth in the Greek means to vitalize or make alive
The words that God speaks are filled with power and are true life to those who will listen to and live by them.
But you can’t do ONLY what YOU want and expect God to bless your actions.
He sees the whole picture and knows exactly how your part fits into the whole. And even though you might not understand it all, it makes perfect sense to God.
Holy Spirit truth can radically change your life if you will be open to hear it.
The more you study the Bible and discover His Character, the more you will be able to trust God with everything in your life.
Just like Peter, it will astound you at what He can accomplish through you.
