Satan is your adversary not the problem, and we as believers in Christ would do well to remember that at all times.
The Bible gives us instructions as to how to defeat Satan. But his defeat rests on your obedience to do what the Bible says.
An example of this would be the teaching on worry in Matthew 6: 25-3
Mat 6:25 So I tell you, stop worrying about your life, as to what you will have to eat or drink, or about your body, as to what you will have to wear. Is not life worth more than food and the body worth more than clothes?
Mat 6:26 Take a good look at the wild birds, for they do not sow or reap, or store up food in barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps on feeding them. Are you not worth more than they?
Mat 6:27 But which of you by worrying can add a single minute to his life?
Mat 6:28 And why should you worry about clothes? Look at the wild lilies and learn how they grow. They do not toil or spin;
Mat 6:29 but I tell you, not even Solomon, in all his gorgeous splendor, was ever dressed up like a single one of these.
Mat 6:30 Now if God so gorgeously dresses the wild grass which today is green but tomorrow is tossed into the furnace, will He not much more surely clothe you, O you with little faith?
Mat 6:31 So never worry and say, 'What are we going to have to eat? What are we going to have to drink? What are we going to have to wear?'
Mat 6:32 For the heathen are greedily pursuing all such things; and surely your heavenly Father well knows that you need them all.
Mat 6:33 But as your first duty keep on looking for His standard of doing right, and for His will, and then all these things will be yours besides.
Mat 6:34 So never worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries of its own. Each day has evil enough of its own."
Satan wants to keep you from seeking God and putting Him first. He wants you to worry over things you can’t control. And he places the thought in your mind that you are not concerned about something if you don’t worry about it.
He wants you to believe the lie that praying about it and giving it to God is not enough. He wants you to constantly worry and try to bear the burden yourself.
Then all your time will be used worrying instead of praying and believing the promises of God.
Satan knows that when God promises something it is powerful.
So he will try to interfere by bringing small things in your life to keep you distracted. And many times these are not bad things, but good ones that can make you feel good about doing them.
He will use whatever he can to distract you, hoping that you will never find out his real motives. Never forget that Satan is your adversary not the problem.
Great things can happen when you believe what God says, and wait for it to come to pass. And Satan knows this all too well.
Ask God to give you the faith to think the right thoughts, say the right words, and stand wholeheartedly on His promises. As your faith increases, you will be able to stand against the methods of Satan through the power of Jesus.
Don’t settle for anything less than the Power of God in your life. And be on guard against things that distract and keep you from doing things that really matter for God.
