The Greatest Command Ever Given

the greatest command ever given

The greatest command ever given by Jesus will mean freedom from great bondage when you decide to follow it.

And giving God control sets you free from having to make all the hard decisions. You simply seek His guidance and walk in obedience to what He says.

It really is that easy. When you have already made up your mind, it will be an automatic thing to walk in obedience.

the greatest command ever given

“If the greatest command is to love God with all your heart, soul, and mind, then the greatest sin is not to.” -H. Blankenship-

When I read this, it made me think about Matthew 22: 37-40 in a whole new way.
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind (intellect.) This is the great (most important, principal) and first commandment. And a second  is like it: You shall love your neighbor as [you do] yourself. These two commandments sum up and upon them depend all the Law and the Prophets.   AMP

The Ten Commandments had been given to Moses and the Israelites in the wilderness. Now Jesus summed them all up into Two Commandments.

The word “shall” gives a command to do something – not IF you feel like doing it. God said love Him with ALL your heart and ALL your soul and ALL your mind.

Because God wants you to be able to produce the kind of fruit that can do great damage to the kingdom of Satan here on earth. He wants you to walk in obedience to the greatest command ever given.

Satan has done a wonderful job of making us feel that life is nothing more than what we want and how we want to live. TV commercials tell us that we have a right to live our life for ourselves, and do only things that make us happy.

Helping others can get pushed far down the list if you only think of helping yourself.

And Satan knows that a selfish person will never be used to do mighty works for God. The more you think about yourself, the less you will think of others.

And you won’t be looking for people around you who are hurting, and need a touch from God.

Selfish thinking has a way of taking over your life, making it all about your needs and wants.

What an awesome thing that the Most High and Holy God would choose any human to do work on His behalf. But He has not chosen just any human. He has chosen YOU.

He has an awesome plan for your life. But to be in on it, you must surrender your wants and needs to God. Then He can start to use you in ways you never imagined.
